MRE inc. [ Modder Racing Enterprises ] is the driving force behind The Dragons Fyre Jet Truck..an NHRA/IHRA certified 1940 Ford pick up truck powered by a GE J-85-17 turbo jet engine, built between the Fall of 2010 and Spring of 2011 and The Dragons Fyre II The R.E.V. [ Redneck Entertainment Vehicle ] built between Spring of 2024 and Spring 2026 by owner/driver Dave Modder. They were preceded by MRE's The Dragon's Fyre Jet DRAGSTER which ran from 1998-2010. Since the completion of our 1940 Ford jet truck in 2011, and its first run at EAA Airventure in 2012, it has traveled to 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile race tracks around the Midwest, Southern states and Canada as well as organized airshows.
The R.E.V is also a 1940 Ford but is an all steel, stake bed pick up body on a GMC 3/4 ton chassis with a 350ci V8 in the front and a J-85 turbo jet engine with afterburner on the back. The R.E.V holds 150 gallons of Jet A and is approx. 5000hp. It will be used at Demo derbies, Eve of Destruction events, monster truck shows etc.. for car burns and other controlled fire destruction.
Both trucks will also participate in charity car shows and static displays at various organized events.
- Partnered with the NFFF, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, the Dragons Fyre I participates in a " fill the boot " campaign at our events to help raise funds for the families of fallen firefighters.
